What We Do

We seek to bridge the gap:

Between our friends and the Savior:  Inspired by Jesus, we go into communities often overlooked by society and pursue opportunities to demonstrate the love of God and declare His power to transform lives. With every interaction and act of kindness, we sow seeds of hope and redemption.

Between our friends and the church: We create avenues for believers to answer God's call to serve and uplift the poor and distressed. Our goal is to facilitate meaningful connections between our friends and local churches, fostering spiritual community ties that benefit both their lives and the church’s mission.

Between our friends and community resources and support: We connect our friends with the resources that can best address their needs and provide a foundation for a fresh start through partnerships with recovery programs, nonprofits, mental health professionals, government agencies, and other community supports.

Strategy for Impact

At Bridge the Gap Lexington, our strategy is grounded in relationship-building,

empowerment, and practical support. We take a direct, mobile approach to meet people

where they are, offering love, hope, and tangible assistance.

1. Go to our friends in need – We meet individuals in their communities, in the middle of their crisis, to build trust and offer support.

2. Create a safe place – We foster environments where people feel secure, respected, and valued.

3. Demonstrate the love of God in practical ways – Through service and support, we reflect God’s love through action.

4. Share the hope of the Gospel – We offer not just material help, but eternal hope through the message of Jesus Christ.

5. Provide opportunity & connect to resources – We link individuals to resources that can aid in their recovery and restoration.

6. Celebrate progress & encourage responsibility – We recognize and celebrate growth, empowering individuals to take ownership of their future.

The Heart of Our Actions: Love and Honor

We believe that every person we meet is deeply and dearly loved by God, no matter their past or current life choices or situation. We are all broken and in need of a Savior. We communicate that we serve a God of second chances who saves by grace through faith.

We treat every person with dignity and honor. God Himself has crowned every person with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5). Jesus said “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me,” (Matthew 25:45). We meet each person we encounter as if he/she is Jesus himself.

We communicate that no one is or should be alone. In the very beginning of creation, God said it was ‘not good’ for man to be alone. Human beings were created to live in community, so the first thing we do is SHOW UP to let our friends know that they are seen, valued and not alone.
